Almost March!

Ok - so I have already figured out that I am not good at this blogging thing.  My husband told me that from the beginning, but I didn't believe him!  haha.  How does he always know?!?!

Anyhow, we have been busy the last few weeks with three sets of visitors.  My first roommate from college and her boyfriend came for a week, then my husband's parents came for a week, and lastly, my parents came for a week.  We have had a house full of visitors, but also had such a great time!  We have two more sets of visitors coming in the next 4 weeks.  After that, I think it will be quiet in our house!

Spanish update....it's still coming along slowly!  I am learning more and more each day!  :)

Tough Days being an American who is not yet bilingual...

I have always wanted to learn Spanish.  I took a total of six years of Spanish in my high school and college years.  Before moving to Mexico, I really thought I knew a lot.  Boy, was I wrong!  Since October, I have been taking 10 hours of spanish classes (one-on-one!), and I feel like I have picked up a little more.

The hard thing is that when I am hanging out with a group of Mexican friends, I don't say a word.  It's not because I don't want to, it's because I can't!  Either I don't know what they are talking about, OR, if I do know what they are taking about, I can't figure out how to put my two cents in.  Oh - and if I figure out how to say it, they are already wayyyyy past that topic!

I have never been in such a situation where I just can't talk or keep up with a conversation!  It really is frustrating!  All I keep thinking about is how I need to learn Spanish as quickly as possible.  I am going to get immersed and volunteer somewhere....most likely an elementary school.  I am ready for the challenge!

My First Blog...

Well, I am definitely brand new to this blogging thing...I figured I would give it a try.  I don't have real kids to post pictures of everyday, but I do have a dog and a cat!  Haha!  Hope you all enjoy.
